The marketing strategy that needs no budget. π§
How to use the "Waffle House" method to grow your online following.
Hey, Mike here π
This week I wanted to share with you a cool strategy that it turns out Iβve been βhalfβ doing since my Learning Heroes days and waaaaayyy before I knew what it was called.
Traditionally, when I was building an audience on LinkedIn Iβd look at who the βmovers and shakersβ were (god, Iβm old!) in the niche I was selling in and keep an eye on the type of content theyβd post.
Iβd do this for two reasons
1. So I could see what content they posted that generated a lot of engagement
2. An opportunity to comment on their posts to gain followers & attention
I took it pretty seriously too, being sad enough to set myself challenges like trying to get a comment I made on their post more βlikesβ than the original post itself.
Yes, I am that immature. Iβve recently learnt that this is called being βratioedβ by the way and is now rife on Twitter. Anyway, back to the strategyβ¦
So, how does any of this relate to you and growing your audience online?
Well last month, Jon Brosio on Twitter was talking about an American restaurant chain known as βWaffle Houseβ and how he had been using their real-world marketing strategy but had replicated it online to grow his following.
Hereβs how it works π
